Three step process
Step 1: Online application
Apply online, uploading your CV and cover letter.
- First impressions matter - we do love a well-structured, clearly written CV and cover letter.
- Use both your CV and cover letter to tell us exactly why you are right for this role in this company. Tailor them to help us quickly understand why you’re a great fit.
- In your covering letter, show us who you really are and why you want to work with us. We want to see your personality more than we want a polite, formal letter.
Step 2: Getting to know you
If your CV and cover letter are a great fit, you might be invited to complete a short self-recorded interview. You can expect between 5-10 straightforward questions – nothing too tricky at this stage!
You might also speak to our Talent team at this stage and have the chance to ask them any questions you have about the company and the role.
- If you haven’t done anything like this before, don’t let this put you off.
- Don’t panic, we’re not looking for a TED talk!
- We just want to hear you talk about yourself and your experience in your own words.
- You can re-record answers if you want to, but it’s also fine to say “Let me rephrase that” and continue.
- Most people find it helpful to jot down notes on what they want to get across in each question. But a full script is overkill.
- Just like the CV and covering letter, we want to know why you want to work for us and why you’re a good fit for this role.
- Be you. We are a company of very diverse personalities. As long as we share values, you don’t have to fit any mould to be happy and successful at ieso.
Step 3: Shortlisting and final interviews
If we shortlist you for the role, you might be asked to come to an in-person (or right now, a video) final interview. We might ask you to prepare something in advance for this, like a short presentation, or to complete a task during the interview itself. You’ll probably meet people from the team you'll be joining and you can ask lots of questions too.
- The final interview will be around 90 minutes and may include some kind of task.
- If you’re asked to prepare something in advance, it doesn’t need to be a huge piece of work but do give it some thought and show us something that highlights your particular skills. If you can do a little bit of research, so much the better.
- If you complete a task during the interview, take your time, look at what we’ve given you and decide: what really matters here? There is only so much you can do in a short task, so decide what you think is worth focusing on that will show you understand the question we’re asking. Don’t worry about creating exciting slides. Just get your message across and you can bring it to life when you talk us through it. Remember: you can’t fail an interview with us just based on your performance in an interview task.
- There might be a few members of the team on the interview call. This is just because everyone at ieso cares about hiring the right people. We are all willing you to succeed! You can ask us lots of questions during the interview and get to meet the people you’ll be working with.
